The Tooele Valley Railroad Museum is one of the best small town railroad museums in the intermountain west. The centerpiece of the museum is Tooele Valley Railway Locomotive #11, a 2-8-0 engine built in 1910. All of the railroad equipment is in fair display condition. Encircling the grounds is a mini railway which runs on select weekends. The volunteer staff is friendly and knowledgeable. A must visit for Tooele locals and rail fans in the area.
A fun place to take the whole family. A lot of history of the railroad and mining in the Tooele Valley. There is a model railroad display there on Saturdays.
I love trains so much, and this is an experience I won't ever forget! You really do get to climb around on the train and explore. You can go in the kaboose, check out the engine, and pretend you're in the Polar Express :)
My daughter LOVES this place has a blast everytime! It's got trains you can walk thru. They are in awesome condition. They are only open in the summer tho.
Lots of historical memories.
